The basic production documents needed in the process of SMT processing.

Gerber file

The Gerber file is a file exported from the PCB file. The content of this file covers the Pad layer (pad layer), the solder mask layer, the silk screen layer, and the stencil layer. Therefore, the factory needs to use the Gerber file to make it. However , some companies’ products are still in the R&D stage, and Gerber files are unwilling to be known, and they are worried about being plagiarized, but some of the Gerber data files is required during production. Leaving the files which factory needs,and deleting the others may be a good choice.

BOM

The BOM (Bill of Material) bill of materials is a detailed description of the material, a file corresponding to the actual products one-to-one, and is the standard document for the factory material incoming and the standard document for the production procedure.

Coordinate file

The coordinate file (Gernerates pick and place files) describes the location information of the device. It needs the extension to be in .txt or Excel format; It needs to include the origin of the PCB. The origin is generally designed in the lower left corner.

Location Map

The bit number map is the location of the pad and silk screen layer, and it is used to check whether the SMT material placement is correct.
