The object of printed PCB circuit board machining is PCB substrate copper clad laminate. Copper clad laminates are made by hot-pressing insulating materials and copper foil using adhesives.
There are two main PCB substrate copper clad laminate reinforcement materials: one is glass fiber cloth, and the other is paper-based. At present, epoxy glass fiber cloth board is the most used in the printed circuit PCB industry.
Whether it is a paper substrate or a glass fiber cloth board, its mechanical processing performance is relatively poor. It can be seen from their structural composition that they are brittle and distinctly layered, with high hardness, and large wear on machining tools. The plate contains incompletely cured resin, and the heat generated by mechanical friction during processing will be affected.
Soften the incompletely cured resin and become viscous, increase frictional resistance, break the tool, and produce greasy dirt at the same time, which affects the processing quality. In order to improve the processing quality, it is necessary to use cemented carbide tools, and the high-feed cutting can ensure the processing quality.
